For Lorraine Ride 2 Win is about saving lives.
For Lorraine the need to open up mental health matters in professional sport is deeply personal.
Lorraine lost her daughter, the competitive Snowboarder Ellie Soutter, to suicide and has found that reinvigorating her love for horses has provided her with much needed distraction and mental healing.
For Lorraine the parallel between the unique challenges that effect professional athletes across disciplines...the problems, of mental health, constant injury, self pressure and financial instability appear in the horse riding community as much as the snowboarding community that her daughter used to occupy.
Sarah Jane Clark
Sarah has come back to horse-riding as part of her strategy to deal with grief and stress.
She recognises the extraordinary healing power of being an equestrian, and how it has impacted her mental wellbeing for the better.
She dedicates her spare time to support Lorraine and Ride_2 Win to spread the word.
